Late post from Friday, but our second segment of Whoa Dere has to go to Iggy Azalea. If you aren’t familiar with Iggy you should definitely get in tuned. Iggy Azalea is a Australian rapper/model, that’s signed to Island Def Jam, and also has a deal with T.I. label Grand Hustle. Iggy was the first female, and first non American rapper to be featured on XXL annual top 10 Freshman cover issue. But besides her rapping skills, Iggy Azalea is a true beauty, and may I add that I love her Australian accent. At her shows she’s known for dancing and sending all her fans in a rage due to her phenomenal body. I can’t blame those fans either. Iggy body is on point, and any man that has a chance to date her should consider themselves lucky (A$AP Rocky I’m talking to you). I hope I put Iggy on a bigger platform so everyone can appreciate her music, and her beauty because she’s a rising star! If she doesn’t make you go WHOA DERE I’m not sure what will! http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh0fm5kLjY7cg7cACy
Album sales are in for The Dream’s IV Play album, and it did poorly selling only 22k in its opening week. That’s well below what his last album, The Love King, sold in its opening week back in 2009 when it sold 59k. It’s not even sniffing the records that were sold on his debut album Love vs Money when it sold 151k. The Dream has never been well-received for his own music, and it seems like it’s only getting worse. People forget he works with a lot of the top favorite artists and writes their music.
So I’m sure he won’t be suffering from only selling 22k in his opening week. The IV Play album is pretty good from track one through track fourteen. There are three big records off the album. The first is “Turnt” which features Beyonce and 2 Chainz. There’s also “Give Me Some IV Play,” which features Big Sean and Pusha T. Finally, there’s “Where Have You Been,” which features Kelly Rowland.
I think The Dream makes pretty good music, but that’s just me. His worse album maybe Love King, but the albums Love Hate and Love vs Money will always be classics in my opinion. IV Play may be on its way to that as well. The more I listen to it the more I like it. I think people should give The Dream more of a chance with his own music because it’s all around solid.
