The Detroit Lions have finally given up on their 2010 1st Rd pick. Lions have released RB Jahvid Best. Best was selected with the 30th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Best saw his draft stock drop due to concussion concerns. Best hasn’t played in a NFL game since October 16, 2011. Best has battled concussions his entire playing career dating back to his days at University Of California, Berkeley. Best just couldn’t stay healthy enough to stay on the football field. In two seasons with the Lions Best had 945 rushing yard on 255 carries with six touchdowns, to go along with 85 receptions for 774yards with three touchdowns. Best will be remembered for his 88-yard touchdown run in the third quarter against the Chicago Bears on Monday night football in 2010 which is the second longest rushing TD in franchise history. I’m not sure if Best considers himself done playing football, but I hope he’s done playing. The years after football are the most important ones. But we wish Best good luck with whatever he decides to do.
