Oh NO Tulo

I hate when players get injured, but when they’re injury prone it’s bound to happen. The Rockies were dealt with a big blow, as they found out tonight that Troy Tulowitzki is out 4-6 weeks with a broken rib. Tulo injured his ribs on a diving catch in the 8th inning of this afternoons game vs the Washington Nationals.  To make matters worse, Carlos Gonzalez also left todays game due to him getting hit by a line drive on his foot while in the on deck circle. Dexter Fowler also left todays game due to a bruised right finger. The Rockies have been a pleasant surprise this year getting off to a respectable 35-32 start. Due to them getting early production from both of their star players. Now Tulo is out 4-6 weeks, Cargo and Fowler will most likely miss a couple of games due to their injuries.

After todays loss, Rockies only find themselves 2.5 games out of first place in the competitive NL West. You can certainly expect the division to get away from them due to their best player missing a significant amount of time. Their only hope is they get more production out of everyone else , and hope Cargo can carry them for a couple games at a time. One positive sign is, Dexter Fowler, who is having a solid season; hitting 299. with 10 hrs. So I know they’re banking on him to get healthy and continue his breakout season. Regardless, we at Swickass wish Troy Tulowitzki a speedy recovery, and one full season of health…Can you imagine the numbers he could potentially put up if that happened? Sheesh!
